When should I contact the International Office?
The International Office can help you at any point during your studies. We recommend contacting us before arrival for help with immigration documents, upon arrival for accommodation and orientation, and whenever you need assistance during your studies.
How can I find a tutor for challenging courses?
The university offers a tutoring program for students who need academic support. Contact the International Office or your faculty’s dean’s office to request a tutor. You can also access the Moodle platform for additional study resources.
What should I do if I experience culture shock?
Culture shock is a normal experience for international students. The university offers psychological counseling services and cultural integration programs. The International Office organizes activities and events to help students adapt to the new culture and environment.
Can international students work while studying?
International students may work part-time in the Republic of Moldova, provided they obtain an appropriate work permit. We recommend consulting the International Office and immigration authorities for up-to-date information on the applicable conditions and restrictions.
How can I extend my residence permit?
The residence permit is extended at the Bureau for Migration and Asylum. The International Office will help you prepare the necessary documents. It is important to apply for the extension at least 30 days before your current permit expires.
Are there any student discounts available?
Yes, USM students benefit from discounts on public transport, museums, theaters and other cultural institutions in Chișinău. Present your student ID to benefit from these discounts. The International Office can provide you with a complete list of available benefits.
